Why self journaling is important?
Self-journaling allows us to gain greater self-awareness, make better decisions, and achieve our goals more effectively. Whether you are an artist, entrepreneur, or simply someone who wants to live a more intentional and fulfilling life, self-journaling can be an invaluable tool for personal growth and development.
With numerous journal apps already available in the market, how can we differentiate ourselves and stand out from the competition?
Some individuals struggle to develop a consistent journaling habit, despite their desire to do so, then how can we help them to develop a consistent and healthy journaling habit?
To distinguish ourselves in a crowded journal app market, we have chosen to differentiate by narrowing down our target audience to Generation Z, we also followed WCAG standard, ensuring an inclusive experience for all users.
Follow Fellow offers a unique feature for converting your old handwritten personal journals to digital text, making it easy to access your past memories. Additionally, we have leveraged the latest technology to enhance the functionality and usability of the app. AI provides valuable insights for self-improvement based on users writing patterns and emotions, offering personalized guidance and recommendations.
Who is the target user
To understanding our target audience better, we started reading articles and consulting sources such as ChatGPT and Bing.
Why "Generation Z"?
Generation Z is the largest and most diverse generation in history, with an estimated population of 2 billion worldwide.
Generation Z, also known as Gen Z or iGen, refers to the demographic cohort born between 1997 and 2015. They are the youngest generation currently in existence and are defined by their use of technology, particularly the internet and smartphones, which has shaped their values, behaviors, and lifestyles.
Survey and Interview
To gain a deeper understanding of our target audience, we conducted a survey on Google Forms to gather more specific insights from individuals. The purpose of the survey was to gather insights on what this generation perceives as their needs and pain points when it comes to the self-journey app. In addition, we conducted interviews with five students.
